Claire Culshaw Wins Community DSN of the Year!

We are delighted to celebrate the outstanding achievements of Claire Culshaw, our Diabetes Specialist Nurse, at the Diabetes Nursing Awards 2026.

Claire received national recognition across two award categories:

🏆 Community DSN of the Year – Winner
Claire was named Community Diabetes Specialist Nurse of the Year, recognising her dedication, expertise and commitment to providing high-quality diabetes care within our communities.

⭐ Diabetes Educator of the Year – Finalist
Claire was also shortlisted as a finalist for Diabetes Educator of the Year, recognising her contribution to supporting and empowering people living with diabetes.

The awards also recognised the wider diabetes team supporting patients across Moreton & Meols and Wallasey Wellbeing PCNs:

👏 Excellence Award – Highly Commended
DiAST (Diabetes Support Team), Moreton & Meols and Wallasey Wellbeing PCNs, received a Highly Commended award for their work supporting people living with diabetes.

These achievements are a wonderful reflection of the passion, knowledge and commitment demonstrated by Claire and the wider DiAST team.

Our Diabetes Support Team works closely with patients and our practices to provide specialist diabetes support, education and care, helping people to better understand and manage their condition.

We are incredibly proud of Claire and the whole DiAST team for this well-deserved recognition and would like to thank them for their continued dedication to improving diabetes care across our communities.
